Hi there! My name is Flora and I’m a food and fitness blogger, ultramarathon runner, fitness model and sustainability advocate.

I am based in Bristol, UK and have a degree in Biology (with a focus on ecology, conservation & marine biology) from the university here.

My instagram, @foodfitnessflora started off as an encouragement for me to eat three healthy meals a day, without over or under eating. From the age of 14 I had a dodgy relationship with food and exercise which made me seriously unhappy, but with the help of friends, doctors and the support of the instagram community, I became healthy again, both physically and mentally.

My attitude around food now is ‘if you want it, eat it’, and running ultramarathons means that all food (not just the healthy stuff) is a necessary source of fuel, as well as joy! Now I am a huge advocate of exercising for the mind as much as the body, and for me all-round health is far more important than any diet or aesthetic goals.

My fitness regime has been inspired by many different forms of training, including weight training, resistance training, HIIT, boxing and running. Although I have played squash and done boxing competitively in the past, I now focus on trail running as my main sport.

I’m here to share what works for me – however, I am not qualified personal trainer or nutritionist. Although my experience over the years has taught me a lot, I can’t say that everything works for everybody. However, I hope you will have a read and see what you think!
